The Kingdom of Mawon was established in 249, and was ruled by 17 canonical kings before it was abolished in 458 by the establishment of the Duchy of Shamólälung.
The Kingdom of Mawon was an elective monarchy. Following the death of a king, it was customary for an appointed individual to assume acting kingship until the formal election of a successor. Between 249 and 295, this role was fulfilled by the king-in-stead appointed by the late king, whereafter it was transferred to the chancellery. While the kings-in-stead who ruled without being elected are traditionally counted among the canonical kings, the interregnal chancellors are not, and are thus listed separately below.
The following list also includes an additional disputed claimant, Asdea Ardenonnan, who was elected to the kingship by the breakaway Rump Rede in 457, but was ultimately defeated and killed by Aldoro IX.

Following the death of Folgono Felga in 247, Endelo came out of exile in Wolnewne to assert himself as King of Arlonn. In 248, he defeated Thyomalo III, King of Yaranweg, and Eydrego, King of Fedhalonn, and united their kingdoms with his own to form the Kingdom of Mawon in 249. He ruled as Lord of Syorbak until his death in 253 after an allergic reaction to an insect bite.

Upon the death of his father, Endelo I, in 253, Annaro II succeeded to the Lordship of Syorbak and became king-in-stead until his election by the Rede of the Lords later that year, when he presided over the first regular lawmoot. His reign saw the first expansion of the kingdom following the annexation of Rewgfol in 255. He ruled until his death in 259, when he suffered a fatal head injury after falling down a short cliff while hunting.

Ranveyga became king-in-stead following the death of her father, Annaro II, in 259. However, the Royal Council granted the Lordship of Syorbak to her uncle, Eymono, and she failed to gain sufficient support to be elected to the kingship. In 260, she met Eymono in a naval battle off the coast of Wolsrok in an attempt to forcibly claim the kingship, but she was killed in the fighting, and her body was never recovered.

Eymono succeeded to the Lordship of Syorbak following the death of his brother, Annaro II, in 259, and was elected to the kingship by the Rede of the Lords later that year. His rule was challenged by his niece and nephew, Ranveyga and Anlodho, although both died in the attempt. During his reign, Eymono orchestrated the incorporation of Reyka and Essyalonn into the Kingdom of Mawon, beginning a long-running territorial dispute with the Earls of Oyslonn. However, his efforts would not be fully realised until the lawmoot following his death in 263, when he fell from his horse during a storm and drowned in the river Kwelnas.

Following the death of her brother, Eymono, in 263, Eyva became king-in-stead and succeeded to the Lordship of Syorbak. She was elected unopposed by the Rede of the Lords later that year and ruled until her death from an unknown illness in 287. Her reign saw the introduction of the controversial right of royal appointment in 273, under which two new lordships were created before its replacement by the sponsorship system in 283.

Arkelo I became king-in-stead and succeeded to the Lordship of Syorbak in 287 following the death of his mother, Eyva. During his kingship-in-stead, he appointed a new chancellor, which prompted much controversy and cost him considerable support among the lords. At the lawmoot of 287, he failed to win the kingship despite having been the favourite only weeks earlier.
![]() | ALVEVA II EYMONONNAN 38/07/287 — 16/05/295 7 years, 221 days | 19/01/256 Arbak, Kwelmak — — — Daughter of Eymono Endelonnan and Elleyna Freyonnan | Reflea Olannan m. 22/01/290 Arbak, Kwelmak 1 child (adoptive) | 16/05/295 Arbak, Kwelmak Aged 39 — — — b. 28/05/295 Fessos, Kwelmak | Daughter of Eymono Endelonnan — — — Lord of Arbak — — — Elected 38/07/287 | Fargleda Byaronnan 287 — — — Ola Elennan 287–295 |
Alveva II was narrowly elected to the kingship at the lawmoot of 287, which also saw the creation of the first lordship under sponsorship. Further lordships were created in 292, propagating a growing web of political rivalries which culminated in her death in 295, six days after she was poisoned while celebrating the Feast of the Hunt at Fessos. She was the first king to hold a lordship other than Syorbak, and would be the last for over a hundred years.

Eydeno became king-in-stead following the death of his sister, Alveva II, in 295. The chancellor, Ola Elennan, resigned due to ill health after being affected by the same poison that had killed Alveva, and Eydeno was forced to appoint a new chancellor, selecting Groa Ekkeonnan. He contested the kingship at the subsequent lawmoot, but lost the election after the votes were tied and Groa voted against him.

Arkelo II succeeded to the Lordship of Syorbak in 316 following the death of his father, Arkelo I, and was elected to the kingship at the lawmoot in the following year. His reign was largely characterised by the gradual weakening of his control over Norlonn, culminating in the reignition of war and his death in the Battle of Thwenawl in 326.

Following the death of his brother, Arkelo II, in 326, Arneo II succeeded to the Lordship of Syorbak and was elected to the kingship in the following year. His reign was mired in civil strife and continued fighting in Norlonn, leading to his assassination during the third siege of Greyvos in 330.

Kara succeeded to the Lordship of Syorbak following the death of her uncle, Arneo II, in 330, and was elected to the kingship later that year. She had the longest reign of any King of Mawon, ruling for over 58 years until her death of natural causes in 389. Her reign oversaw a considerable consolidation of the kingship’s power with the formalisation of the chancellor’s legislative functions, the establishment of a network of mints to standardise the coinage, and the strengthening of the kingship’s influence on literary culture following the foundation of the monastery at Medelos to rival those of Fessos and Brownos.

Endelo II succeeded to the Lordship of Syorbak following the death of his mother, Kara, in 389, and was elected unopposed to the kingship later that year. He spent much of the latter part of his reign in ill health, and upon his death in 399, there were no valid claimants to the kingship, propagating a succession crisis that brought his kingdom to the brink of civil war.

In 399, Arlovo was elected to the kingship as the Lord of Feklam following the death of his cousin, Endelo II. A grandson of Thrandeo Feronnan, Arlovo’s reign oversaw the reconquest of Norlonn and the establishment of a peace settlement with the King of Aigla. He was the first King of Mawon not to be the child of any previous king.

Anlana II was elected to the kingship as the Lord of Owffek in 416, following the death of her father, Arlovo. She was the first King of Mawon to exert her kingship over Frólon, conquering the island in 419, and extended her kingdom southwards in Reyklonn in the 420s. She ruled until her death of natural causes in 433.

Fenlodho succeeded to the Lordship of Owffek following the death of his mother, Anlana II, in 433, and he was elected to the kingship later that year. A member of the Bálknirir, he married Gaifyn, the Lord of the Bears, in 440, and succeeded him upon his death in 444, whereupon he also became King of Fenlung and Aigla, and passed the Lordship of Owffek to his sister, Ollana. After losing much of his territory in Reyklonn and Essyalonn to Aldoro IX of Baklalonn, and largely neglecting his kingship in Mawon, the Rede of the Lords voted to outlaw Fenlodho and replace him with his niece, Anvera, at the lawmoot of 448. He continued to claim the kingship thereafter, but failed to regain control of Mawon before he died in battle in 456.

Anvera was elected to the kingship at the lawmoot of 448 following the outlawry of her uncle and predecessor, Fenlodho. Following the loss of further territory to Aldoro IX of Baklalonn in 449, the lords agreed to surrender in 450, whereafter Anvera married him, although she was responsible for much of the practical governance of Mawon. She ruled jointly with Aldoro until her death of a sickness in 456.
![]() | ALDORO IX ALDORONNAN Emperor Elme V 02/07/450 — 41/02/458 7 years, 160 days | 16/03/418 Syoldenn, Grekkeyd — — — Son of Aldoro VIII Noadhannan and Khemvë Bellakh | Anvera Seyronannan m. 05/07/450 Owffek, Soyna 1 child | 15/06/497 Bellaghos, Eskǫma Aged 79 — — — b. 31/06/497 Bellaghos, Eskǫma | Treaty of Medelos — — — Elected 02/07/450 | Esgleda Odmodonnan 450–458 — — — Arkelo Arlovonnan 458 |
Aldoro, then also Emperor Elme V of Gundlung, was elected to the kingship at an irregular lawmoot in 450 after seizing much of southern and western Mawon in 449. He married Anvera three days later, with whom he ruled jointly until her death in 456. With much of the west of Eymalonn also conquered, Aldoro announced his intention to abolish the Kingdom of Mawon and incorporate it into a Gundic Duchy at a lawmoot in 457. This prompted considerable resistance from the lords, many of whom rejected his kingship and broke away to form a rival kingdom, however they were defeated shortly after the treaty abolishing the Kingdom of Mawon was ratified at a lawmoot in 458. Frólon was conquered in the following year, marking the end of the Eymic period and the beginning of the Gundic period. |

Asdea was elected unanimously by the breakaway Rump Rede in 457 in opposition to the sole kingship of Aldoro, although she was largely a figurehead in this capacity, with much of the real power lying in the hands of her mother, Goddala Godfadhonnan. After her allies in Mawon were defeated by Aldoro in 458, Asdea fled into exile in Frólon, where she maintained her claim to the kingship until she was captured and executed by Aldoro in 459. |
